Xbox LIVE Arcade

I worked as a Software Test Engineer for Microsoft while working on the Xbox LIVE Arcade team. My daily tasks varied but I was well versed in the Microsoft Technical Certification Requirements and applied them as a central focus for my testing. In addition to ensuring standards were met; I also tested in the following areas:

  • Connectivity and Network Testing.
  • Graphics and Video Compatibility.
  • Interoperability and Regional Checks.
  • Localization Testing.
  • Game play and Functionality Testing.

I used multiple debug tools to assist in identifying problems from memory allocation and performance hitches to library errors and static caching errors. For more advance testing; I would edit files to corrupt / change their intended actions and I would use internal publishing programs to compile builds and check for errors with file dependencies.

While working on the Xbox LIVE Arcade team, I assisted in testing over twenty titles as they went through their development cycle. I tested, and was credited for testing, four titles through their entire development cycle / submission.
